The MiG (Mikoyan & Gurevich) 31 had its roots in the MiG-25. however with its phased array radar system and very long-range air-to-air missiles it is a far more efficient interceptor. MiG-31M 057(Blue) is seen under power at Zhukovsky. August 1995. This aircraft was the seventh and final 31M.
the most advanced variant: it has electronic warfare pods on the wing tips. Code-nanled Foxhound by NATO. the decline in the Russian defence budgets is likely to see that this is the last version of the type.
